wednesday was a big day

we said goodbye to all this hair.it was getting wild.
and a little too einsteinish.

he never cried.

mama didn't either.

but in the other one my eyes look like i went to cocktail hour before the big moment.

the hair really isn't this poofy in person.

daddy had a busy day at work, so we stopped by to show him the new do.

of course, he and august had to make a few calls.

our little guy is growing up so fast.

the big boy is renner (said when-na by the kids).

everyday the buckets came out.

the tents were set up.

castles built.

paddle ball played.

and played.

another rule broken.

i promise we put them back everyday.

most afternoons we left the beach for some pool time.


the kids enjoyed jumping and swimming.
filling up cups.
being thrown into the air.
and playing a little shuffle board.
as you can see, we didn't follow the rules very well.
the kids also enjoyed snacks by the pool.
this won't be the last time you see this bucket of snacks.
e.n. and uncle pooh enjoying some time together.

and don't we know how good life is when we are at the beach.

the fourth

better late than never.

we celebrated the fourth with a get together at the lake.

our friends linda and shawn came.

they brought the girls, bailee and shelby.

we grilled out hamburgers and hot dogs.

and had a flag cake for desert.

can you get more american than that?

after dinner the kids decided to go for another swim.

they shucked their clothes and went skinny dipping.

we waited and waited for the fireworks.

they finally started.

after everyone went home.

happy belated birthday america!

we are back from vacation.
the laundry is caught up.
the sand has been shaken out of most crevices.
i know i will continue to find it throughout the year,
but i don't mind it one bit.
if it were only between my toes again!
i have tons of pictures to download and edit.
and a baby who is waking up early from his nap.

baby boy pritchett

he was born yesterday around 12:30.
he weighed in at 6 lbs 9 oz.
measured 19 1/2 inches.
and is really such a cutie.
i see big brother cline, but more of gigi (kari's mom) and aunt tori.
especially in this one.


we went to visit today.

i just love babies in black & white's and sepia's.

but here is one with red peeking out of his blanket.

sleeping so peacefully.

someone else was busy exploring the room.

but that's o.k. because mama got to hold the baby.

he still had no name when we left the hospital.
so for now, we call him baby boy pritchett.
