the deer and friends come to visit

travis got the BIG one.
and man was he happy.

august sure was proud of his daddy.

jared and eric decided to go back out and sit for awhile.
its funny how a big buck can do that to ya.

later that day, we headed back down to the creek.

for some rock throwing.
can you see that my boy is feeling under the weather?
his eyes say it all.

the brooker's in benton came to visit.
and brooker sure was happy to see his cousins.
us girls enjoyed catching up too.

cuteness

hanging on to mama.
a sure sign that an illness looms.

and more cuteness

the acorns were falling all around us.
we busied ourselves like squirrels.

another great view to take in.

huntley sure knows how to pose for a picture.

photo shoot - downtown waverly (updated)

(got word that sweet little molly jane was cut out of some pictures.
hopefully the problem has been fixed!)

i'll let the pictures do the talking.

but i must say one thing.
getting a shot with 4 kids all looking is next to impossible!
(how do photographers do it?)

downtown waverly

us girls loaded up the kids and headed into downtown waverly.
it is a small town with some neat places.

this tree just screams "take some picture with me,
under me,
around me,
and in my leaves."

so we did.
but first, we took a break at the waverly cafe.
and i had the best hot chocolate in the history of the world.

a group shot to prove we were all there.
not the best, but proof.

huntley enjoyed his mama's drink too.

across the street for leaf time.
molly jane loved those leaves.
all crunchy and tasty.
the boys did too.
(they just didn't eat them!)
see that cannon back there?
brooker took it on.
the cannon won.

we didn't notice this sign until later.
and, i hate to admit that it didn't stop us florida girls from taking in fall.

ready, set, jump.

we went back the next day.
in our picture taking clothes.

around the farm

our first morning in tennessee was spent hanging out around the farm.
the kids loved the creek, just down the hill from the house.
isn't huntley's sweater adorable?
(of course, he is too!)

august gave samantha an arm workout.
doing a little twig fishin'.

the men picked us up for a 4 wheeler ride.

the sights were beautiful:
smoak damn,
a waterfall,
down into a ravine,
and back up the steep hill,
(where samantha and amy waited with the little ones like smart girls),
and just a few wait-a-minute vines along the way.
next stop . . . downtown waverly.

tennessee here we come

we had the wonderful opportunity to go north to tennessee.
to see fall and do some deer hunting.
august loved the airport,
and taking his first ride on an airplane.

we arrived without a glitch.
and ALL our luggage showed up too.
here are the boys doing a little work on the tires while the men wrangle:
10 bags,
4 car seats,
and 2 gun cases (that was just the stuff we checked!).

getting it all loaded.

all loaded (thanks to the nice airport guy) and ready to go in a 12 passenger van.

yes, we loaded all 12 of us in the van and managed to get all of stuff in too.
august made it look all roomy in the back,
but let me tell you, it was just a little tight.

first stop, lunch at jack's bbq in nashville.
and man was it good.

second stop, next door to tootsies to take in some live music.
we were THOSE people who took babies into a bar,
but everyone there enjoyed them.
and those babies enjoyed some good country music.

we made quite a few more stops along the way,
but arrived safe and sound to this view from the back porch.

we sure were lucky to spend 3 full days taking in sights like this.
more to come . . .

editing, doctoring, and itching

editing tons of pics from our trip to tennessee.
doctoring a sick little boy.
and itching to cut into some new fabric.

be back soon!
