races 2010

they have come and gone once again.
many more race memories have been made.
the kids had a blast.
adults too.

hope you enjoy some captured moments with a little commentary here and there.

sharing m & m's.

dixie trying to get a better view.
somehow i only got one of these.
but the kids drove their jeeps until the batteries died.

time out doll look alike.

spun out car.
avoiding the spun out car.
too close for comfort!
true mcqueen fan.

appears to be a serious conversation.
planes and helicopters flew overhead all day.

sun setting on the races.

daddy's boots

i could just eat him up.
and i must say daddy looks equally handsome in or out of those boots!

friday night special

one free haircutbefore wetting those curls down,
they were wild and out of control.
so mama went to work.
it turned out o.k.
thank goodness curls are forgiving.

puddles

first, i apologize for the amount of pictures.
so, if you're not into little boys (and a few big) jumping in puddles,
just ignore this post.

second, this boy will turn just about anything into a gun.
do any of yours do the same?now let the puddle fun begin!
testing the water with a leaf.
kicking it around some.
full force through the water.
blurry, but love that face.

just a little dirty.

august says, "help mama."
mama replies, "you can do it!"

he gets a partner in crime.

then later, turkey calling lessons.

time to lose some water.
and get cleaned up.
warning: chap stick will melt when left in your pocket.
and leave a big wad when applied.
finally, have you ever seen a colony of ants swimming for their life?
now you have!

been missing

been missing around here,
mostly because i now have an iphone.
yep, i can text and do all kinds of other fancy stuff!

august says, "happy st. patrick's day!"
(and cheese for my new phone)
gotta love that independent streak with his accessories.

hoping to post pics from our weekend soon.
just imagine: boy + puddles = hours of fun!

leaving you with an old irish blessing:
may the road rise up to meet you.
may the wind always be at your back.
may the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

yard sale

our neighborhood yard sale is this saturday.
so i've been sticking on price tags, making signs,
and dumping it all on the bed.
can't wait to see that quilt again!

3.09.2010

hanging out at camp

doing a little jeep riding cooking up breakfast
new garden tools - we plan on putting somebody to work!!
how to rig a lawn mower for taller people
and taking a rest in daddy's arms after a good, long day

u-pick

we were in need of some fresh air around here,
so we headed out to the local u-pick farm.

the sun was warming these beauties.
august brought his "protection" along.he was checking out the "northern" visitors picking berries.

our loot: all for just $2.50.
the tomatoes were very ripe, but perfect for salsa.
i see nachos or quesadillas in my near future.

we will definitely go back to stock up on our veges.
and hopefully pick some of those beautiful berries.

since we were over half way there,
we stopped by to visit gran and pa.

they put august to work:
coloring pictures,

sorting paperclips,

and making some important decisions about oranges.
to eat or not to eat?
unfortunately, he chose not.
