avon park homecoming

a few weeks ago, we headed up to avon park for the homecoming game.

kelsie is a senior and a member of the court.

she was stunning.

both bands (ap was playing lake placid) performed the national anthem.

my uncle conley helped with the run through banner.

cheerleaders, and cheering fans.

great light and coon hats

the other night i was out taking pictures of a quilt,
and august insisted we take some family pictures.
the light was great...the attire left much to be desired.
travis and i joked about feeling hillbillyish.

it's only fitting that our boy now has his very own coon hat straight from some tennessee coon.
he slayed his pillow pet with his brand new wooden pocket knife.

and skinned it too!

august's 5th birthday

for months and months before his party,
there were only 3 requests:
a dinosaur cake
a water slide
and all my friends

i think we succeeded because we had one happy birthday boy!
