pumpkin patch

saturday we visited the pumpkin patch with cline and parker.
the too older and "cool" dudes. all three with their pumpkins,
and i promise august is not picking his nose!
"look mama, two."
they had a really cute picture set up.
old rusty wagon, hay bales, scare crows, and corn stalks.
but for some reason i neglected to the whole background.
bean bag toss: score 2 out of 4.
and after the first one landed in,
the little boy in the back said,
"wow," and moved back.
fishing to catch all sorts of goodies.

we had a good time and came home with a little pumpkin.

camping

at some point over the past several weekends, we have spent some time at the hunting camp.
and every weekend august has come under attack by those pesky mosquitoes.
what started out as a knot under the eyebrow,
turned into an eye swollen shut the next morning.
but he wasn't bothered by it too much and was more than willing to help check and fill feeders.
blaze loves running wild and is always hunting for birds.

putting up the new feeder. making sure the battery works.
yep, it works.
can i catch some corn?
i must admit our camping is not primitive.
we have running water, power, and direct tv.
those saturday football games just can't be missed!

i finally did it

opened an etsy shop. for some reason this name popped into my head and wouldn't leave, so i went with it.

so far i only have these 2 tea towels designs,
but i hope to get some rosettes and other goodies you may have seen on the blog in there.

i also have some ideas for new items swimming around in my head.
just need to get caught up on custom orders.
you can find me at:
stop by and keep coming by as i hope to add stuff throughout next week!

modeling

my sister-in-law, erica, has a store that is now carrying children's clothing.
she needed some pictures of the new (and very cute) clothes.
we had three really good-looking models,
(which we bribed with a jeep ride).
it took all of 20 minutes,
and most of that time was spent dressing them!

erica, i can't wait to see the final product!

if you are on facebook, go check her store out at bass and bass decor savvy.

turned three

that's what august went and did last saturday...
how dare him?!?

we had a lake party with a little circle theme thrown in the mix.
cut and sewed together circles for the garland.
(idea taken from here.) simple party favors.
and some chocolate in there for the mamas.
the whole gang ready to go.
silly faces.
they lined up.
ran down and dove in.
over and over again.
some crashed along the way.
and others moved slower than some.
but they all had a good time.
three cousins:
directions were to act like monkeys
and this is what i got!
present time was sort of like a free for all,
but full of good surprises.
the circle theme continues.
(and my first try at fondant.)
august picked out his candles over a month ago.
they couldn't have matched any better,
and the more candles to blow out the better....
at least when you are 3.

family shot
but wait,
spiderman needs to get in there too.
kissing the cheeks tradition.
(not much better that last year.)
and the cake surprise.
colored layers to match our circles.

thanks to all our friends and family for making august's birthday so special.

we love you little man!

running through my head

was the post woman's remark about people not knowing how to address mail.
and i was thinking to myself, "really?"

he doesn't seem to mind

that his helmet is really a chip bowl.
oh birthday, won't you come soon? for the new helmet awaits.
and allergies, take a step back and leave my boy and his eyes alone.
